1.3DEFINITIONS

  1. RAID: Redundant Array of Independent Disks is a technology that employs the simultaneous use of two or more hard disk drives to achieve greater levels of performance, reliability, and/or larger data volume sizes.
  1. iSCSI: Internet SCSI is aprotocol that allows clients (called initiators) to send SCSI commands to SCSI storage devices (targets) on remote servers via an IP network.
  1. NVRAM: Non-volatile random access memory is a type of random access memory which does not lose its information when power is turned off.
  1. SNMP: Simple Network Management Protocol is a component of the Internet Protocol Suite as defined by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF). SNMP is used in network management systems to monitor network-attached devices for conditions that warrant administrative attention.
