COURSE DESCRIPTION:

Teaches concepts required by machine shops, engineering, electrical and welding industries. Students will begin with simple prints and proceed to more complex/advanced prints.

COURSE OBJECTIVE:

Students who successfully complete this course will be able to demonstrate an understanding of methods used to produce drawings and blueprints. Have the ability to interpret multi-view drawings, understand drawing dimensions, tolerances and allowances. Have basic understanding of Geometric Dimensioning &Tolerancing (GTD), interpret fastener designation and welding drawings.

A100% to 90%

B89% to 80%

C79% to 70%

D69% to 60%

F59% and below

ATTENDENCE:Students are expected to attend every class. If a student misses

more than three (3) classes, they may receive an F for excessive absenteeism.

TARDINESS:

Students are expected to be punctual. If a student is tardy more than three (3) times (either beginning of classes or after lunch) it may result in a letter grade reduction.

CHANGES IN COURSE REQUIREMENTS AND/ OR SYLLUBUS:

Instructor reserves the right to change course requirements and syllabus contents as circumstances dictate. You will be given notice if the course requirements need to be changed.

INSTRUCTION MATERIALS: Interpreting Engineering Drawings text and handouts will be supplied by instructor and will be returned at the end of the semester in good condition. Do not write or mark the text in any way.

Students attending any of the Machine Tool Technology classes must realize the hazardous environment in which the classes are held.
