Vintage vehicles, veterans and Kentish fare at the Heritage Transport Show 2015

The 6th annual Heritage Transport Show at the Kent Event Centre on 28th March combines a wealth of history, motor heritage and Kentish fare, plus a host of fun attractions for the whole family to enjoy. Organised in partnership with the South East Bus Festival, the show is set to welcome 5000 visitors along with over 500 exhibitors including an impressive turnout of buses, cars, commercial vehicles, military vehicles, motorbikes along with tractors and classic cars of the future.

The show is also set to welcome the Kentish Farmers Market for their second year at the show. The market will include delicacies from across the region including award winning chutneys and jams, Kent’s world-famous apple products, Kentish beer, homemade sausage rolls and pasties, with plenty of samples on offer to give visitors a real taste of Kent.

With a host of fun activities for visitors of all ages, the show will include a number of attractions, including a family-favourite miniature steam railway train, free bus tours in a selection of veteran and vintage buses which will run routes around the showground every five minutes along with tractor and trailer rides. Displays will include automotive clubs, attractions, model car displays and trade stands showcasing autojumble, books, models and general collectibles as well as car parts and tools, offering activities and for the steadfast car enthusiast and families alike.

Visitors will enjoy presentations from a number of keynote speakers, including a session on D-Day to Berlin on Four Wheels, along with a short presentation on the transport used by the 21st Army Group from the assault on the Normandy beaches to VE day.

The South East Bus Festival will host a number of speakers and 2015 marks anniversaries for the bus communities in the centenary of the Southdown Motoring services. Visitors can expect to see approximately 100 buses displayed, as well as bus related trade stands.

The Veteran cycle club are set to celebrate their 60th anniversary at the show, promoting the riding and conservation of old bicycles as well as providing information about the history of cycling.

Kent Event Centre is the commercial arm of the Kent County Agricultural Society, an agricultural charity established in 1923 based at the Kent Showground near Maidstone in Kent. The Kent Event Centre was formed in 2000 as the commercial arm of the charity as a dedicated conference and events venue.
