I, PETER JOHN REDSTON, acting in accordance with the delegation of powers to me under section I3 of the Defence Enterprise Collective Agreement 2012 – 2014 (DECA) by the Secretary to the Department of Defence, hereby determine under section H10 of the DECA that the conditions of service for employees travelling and working overseas are to be adjusted as set out below.2
/Amendment
The conditions of service amended by this determination are published in the Defence Pay and Conditions Manual Overseas Conditions of Service volume.3
/Definitions
For the purpose of applying the conditions in the Defence Pay and Conditions Manual Overseas Conditions of Service volume, the terms in the following table that apply to ADF members are to be taken to include the corresponding terms in the table that apply to APS employees, except where there is an express contrary intention (such as supporting a specified ADF operation):ADF term / Corresponding APS term

I determine that table item 2 of clause 17.10.10 of Chapter 17 Part 10 of the Defence Pay and Conditions Manual, Overseas Conditions of Service volume be substituted with the following item 2.2. / The ADF contribution deployed overseas to the United States-led military response to international terrorism / Afghanistan / 69.28

/Transitional
1. / This clause applies to an employee who was performing duty in support of the ADF contribution deployed overseas to the United States-led military response to international terrorism for any period between 20 February 2012 and the commencement of this Determination and who was not entitled to hardship allowance for that period.2. / The employee is to be paid a transitional payment for the period in subclause 1. The payment is the amount of hardship allowance that would have been payable to the employee had this Determination commenced on 20 February 2012.
