So, he joined the gang of Vijay @ Sonu to earn easy money. Earlier he has been involved 8 times in different criminal cases of Delhi. He was released from Jail in February 2010 and returned to the gang immediately and resumed committing robberies.

This gang usually targeted copper factories in Farsh Bazar and Seema Puri area and created a sensation after committing 12 gun-point robberies of copper wire in different factory godowns after tying up the watchmen. During the commission of crime, the gang members used to wear monkey caps to avoid being identified later. These monkey caps have been recovered from the possession of the accused persons at the time of their arrest. They used the recovered Maruti cars to carry the looted copper. The gang leader Vijay @ Sonu alongwith another gang member Dilshad used to dispose of the looted copper.

After distribution of the looted booty, the gang members used to celebrate their success in crime in different bars of Ghaziabad, UP and the gang leader Vijay @ Sonu used to win much of the share of other gang members during gambling under the influence of liquor.
