Make a difference through Dance
The Caribbean has long inspired social gatherings the world over. The Dominican Republic and Haiti have produced rhythms, flavors, sounds, visuals and have given us people who have enriched communities worldwide. Recently, floods and landslides destroyed communities all over the island joining the two nations. Over 2000 people are reported to have died and thousands more to have been displaced and affected by the situation in life threatening ways.
We have an opportunity to contribute to the restoration and rehabilitation of the lives of thousands of people on the Island. Through your generous donations, money will be sent to support those in need through the Red Cross International. The Latin Dance Party on July 20 at Ryles Jazz Club will provide an opportunity for lovers of Latin Music to enjoy an evening of quality music and dancing, whilst making a contribution to efforts to help and support victims of the floods and landslides in the Dominican Republic and Haiti. All money received from the entry fees will be used to cover expenses for hosting the event and to make a donation to the Red Cross disaster fund for Haiti and the Dominican Republic. Everyone attending the evening will have the option of signing up for a mailing list which will keep you updated of relief and rehabilitation efforts via email.
