Small or Informal Wedding

This is a ceremony designed for a small or informal church wedding with a few close relatives and friends, and similar to what you would have in a home. Number of guest is limited to 60. The ceremony is limited to the entrance of the bride and her escort walking down the aisle. Bridesmaids and Groomsmen will join the minister and groom in receiving the bride at the alter.

POLICIES AND PROCEDURES:

Only Christian weddings are allowed. Couples must be eligible for marriage as outlined by the state of Texas and within the guidelines of our church - one man to one woman.

Setting the date: Date is not guaranteed if placed more than 90 days in advance. The formal weddings have priority over small or informal weddings before that time. An exception to this policy may be if the date was on a Sunday or on a week day other than Friday or Saturday.

Fees: The fee is $175 to be paid in full to hold your wedding date. Refundable up to 30 days of wedding date.

Your allotted time is 90 minutes for preparations, pictures and ceremony. Because of the time limitations the bride and groom need to be dressed when they arrive. Understand that the time start of the wedding should be set about 15-20 minutes into your opening time of the building. This will give yourself time to get organized and for your guest to arrive.

Officiating Pastor: The pastor of FBC Murphy is available to officiate your wedding, or you may use an ordained minister of your choice subject to the church’s approval. The Pastor sets his fee for this service.

Music is selected from the church’s CD. It will be played by a member of the church staff. The piano is available for live music. You will be responsible for the pianist.

Church decorations and facilities: Must not be moved or altered. Platform will be cleared to accommodate the ceremony. Only the sanctuary and restrooms will be made available.

Decorations: Because this is an informal wedding decorations are kept to a minimum to none. Anything that requires nails, staples, tape or other devices that deface the walls, carpet or furniture is not allowed. Exits can not be blocked or inhibited. Candles in the wedding ceremony can be used only on the platform. Only Drip-less candles allowed. Unity candles may be exempt from this rule if carpet protection is used. Except for the unity candles and candelabra, open flames are not allowed. Both florist and family are responsible for anycandle damage to the carpet. Runners are not allowed.

No food or beverages allowed in the sanctuary at any time, including kid snacks.

.

Only bubbles or dried lavender may be used outside to send-off the newly weds. No confetti, snowflakes, bird seed or materials of this nature allowed inside or outside of the building.

.

Keep children in hand. They are not allowed to roam, run or play in the church and are limited to the sanctuary.

No alcohol or any other drugs allowed in the building or on the property. People who are obviously on drugs or drunk will not be allowed in the building. This Includes bride or groom, in which case, fee is not refundable.

Smoking is allowed only on the back sidewalk of the building.

No animals are allowed in the building except service dogs.
