Dear Upcoming Seniors:
Congratulations on successfully navigating your way through the first three years of high school. You are about to embark upon your senior year at OCHS! For those of you who will be taking English IV during the 2012-2013 school year, your summer reading assignment is to choose ONE of the works of literature listed below and complete a “Reader Response Sheet.”
Here are the steps for successful completion of the assignment:
1. “Google” the list of books and choose a book based on your interest.
2. Divide the book into four equal parts (i.e.: if there are 20 chapters, each part would consist of five chapters).
3. Read the first part of your book.
4. Complete the first part of the “Reader Response Sheet.” Your response may include, but is not limited to, significant characters, events, and your personal reaction to these. It must fit within the space provided on the form!
5. Read the second part of your book.

**Please keep in mind that you must have access to a copy of your book during the first unit. Options: check out at the public library, download the ebook (several books are free), buy a used copy at a used book store (e.g. Half Price Books), or buy a new copy at any bookstore or online.
