Exposure to new cultures and customs is a powerful way to promote understanding and peace and one such beautiful program that shall give this once in a lifetime opportunity to the youth of our district is the Inter District Youth Exchange Program.

It's indeed a pleasure in informing you that in this dynamic Rotary Year of 2016-17, our District is organising an Inter District Youth Exchange program with various districts in India.

We are currently having this program with 3 Districts
01. DISTRICT- 3240

Rotary International (R I) DISTRICT 3240 lies in the North Eastern part of the Indian subcontinent between Nepal, China, Bhutan, Myanmar and Bangladesh. To the north, it is bordered by the mighty Himalayas and on the southern end is the Bay of Bengal. Territorially, this district is one of the largest Rotary districts in the world covering over 2,95, 607 sq. km of land. Closeted within these perimeters is a land of snow clad mountains, verdant hills, expansive plains, mountain streams, majestic rivers, bustling towns, idyllic hamlets and miles and miles of land carpeted by lush green tea bushes. R.I. District 3240 is a relatively new district formed in the Year 1990 and encompasses nine states of India – Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, Tripura and eight revenue districts of West Bengal. (Barddhaman, Birbhum, Malda, Dakshin Dinajpur, Uttar Dinajpur, Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri & Cooch Bihar). There are 71 clubs in the district with almost 2450 Rotarians.

02. DISTRICT – 3291

The Rotary movement started on 23rd February 1905 in Chicago, USA. Rotary was born in India with the first meeting of "Old Number One" theRotary Club of Calcutta, at Peliti's Restaurant, 11 Government Place, Calcutta on 26-Sep-1919 and the granting of its charter on 1st January 1920. 11 revenue districts of WEST BENGAL viz., Kolkata, 24-Parganas North, 24 Parganas South, Bankura, Hooghly, Howrah, Murshidabad, Nadia, Paschim Medinipur, Purba Medinipur, Purulia) and the ANDAMAN & NICOBAR ISLANDS.

03. DISTRICT – 3051

Our very first neighbouring district in the state of Gujarat is district 3051. It ranges from the deserts of Kutch to the metropolitan city of Ahmedabad. It shares a common bond of social and cultural values with our own District of 3060.

The teams selected for the exchange program for District 3240 and 3051 shall be going in the month of November as this will be a non schooling period of Diwali Vacations and the team for District 3291 is scheduled around Durga Puja Festival which shall be a great opportunity. The Program shall be for 8 to 10 days.

The age for participations shall be between 18 to 30 years. Interested applicants are requested to forward their duly filled form.

Last date for receipt of the application is 31st August, 2016 at below address.

Clubs are requested to sponsor their candidates.

Maximum 8 to 10 participants shall be selected for each District and the preferably selection shall be one team from each zone.
