Dear Prospective GEMS All-Star and Parent,
Thank you for choosing the Gem of Champions All-Star Program (GEMS). We are excited and honored to have the opportunity to work with you and your child. It is our goal at GOC to build skill and character in all of our athletes while promoting a safe and fun environment for all.
We are excited to start SEASON SE7EN with you, and we cannot wait to get see our GEMS shine bright this upcoming year. The fun, positive attitude and friendly environment in our gym is what sets us apart from others. We strive to make learning skills and becoming better athletes just a portion of what we teach at GOC. Integrity, self-esteem, dedication, teamwork, responsibility, and character are among the values that we promote daily.
We know that good communication is vital in an all-star program. It is our goal to be readily accessible for your questions, comments, and concerns. We will do all that we can to make sure you are in-the-know at all times. We also welcome positive and constructive comments during your time at Gem of Champions. We truly value you as our customers.
It is the mission of GOC to “provide the customer with a service that will not only develop his/her abilities as a cheerleader, but also develop the vital personality traits important to success in life”. We hope this is evident in the time you spend with us. It is our intention to make every student and family feel welcome and important in our program. We always want GOC to be their “home away from home.”
On a personal note, I want to thank you for your interest in Gem of Champions. I am thankful for each and every person that we have at GOC, and cannot wait to meet our GEMS. We truly have a “FAMILY” that I am certain you will love as much as I do.

The Level 5 schedule will be similar to the above, but will be released at a later date. Miscellaneous Fees will be dependent on this schedule.
2017-2018GEMS Pricing List
GEMS Monthly Tuition and Miscellaneous Fees will all be placed on Automatic Debit. You have the option of getting everything debited on the 1st of each month, or the 15thof each month, or choosing to have Tuition debited on the 1st and Miscellaneous Fees debited on the 15th. The payment will be posted to your account 5 days prior to the due date. If a payment has not been received by the stated due date, we will charge the card we have on file. If your account comes back as NSF, you will be contacted and charged a $25 NSF Fee.
Monthly Tuition (June 2017 – April 2018): $130 / month (All Athletes)
Tuition includes, on average, 5 hours of instruction at GOC. Team practices will total 4 hours a week. GEMS will also be able to take a Tumble Class of their choice throughout the week (1 hour).
Monthly Miscellaneous Fees: Levels 1 – 4$175 June-Jan / NO Misc. Fees Feb-April Level 5 Team Same as above (There could be additional fees based on additional Level 5 events)
*If any team attends an end-of-the-year event in May 2018, there will be a pro-rated tuition for that month.*
NO MISC FEES IN FEBRUARY, MARCH, OR APRILTHIS SEASON!
* The MISC FEE is subject to change based off of the number of athletes that tryout.
* Misc. Fees include, but are not limited to Competition fees, Choreography, Music, USASF Fee, Competition Bow, Competition Make Up, Shoelaces, SHINE OFF Fee plus 1 ticket, end of the year Banquet fee for athletes only, and Coach’s Travel and Expenses.
*Sibling Discount: 1st All-star pays Full Tuition. Each additional All-star from the same family will pay Half Tuition. All All-stars will be responsible for All Miscellaneous Fees.
Be sure to take advantage of our Referral Program! For every NEWGEM you refer for SEASON SE7EN and remains on a team through choreography, you will get one month’s Free Tuition. THIS IS UNLIMITED!!!

We are so excited that this is a NEW UNIFORM YEAR for us! Rebel Athletics has designed us a phenomenal competition uniform and practice wear that will definitely WOW the cheer world, and we will truly SHINE on stage!!! There will be Apparel payments split throughout the first three months of the new season. The apparel fee will include Competition Uniform and two sets of practice wear. The first payment of $200 will be due at your first practice in JUNE along with your first Tuition and Misc. payment. The remaining balance of the apparel fee will be broken into two payments of $200 (July 1st) and $125(August 1st). These apparel payments are due on the first of the month along with tuition. You will incur your normal Miscellaneous Fee starting in June and continuing through January. Individual pieces can be purchased. We will have a fitting day TBA.
GEMS Requirements
**GOC has a place for ALL AGES and ALL LEVELS!**
Level 1:No requirements.
Level 2:Standing Backhandspring required. Backwalkover and Running Backhandspring strongly suggested.
Level 3:Standing Series and Triple Jumps to Backhandspring required. Round-off Backhandspring Tuck required. SpecialtyPass through to Tuck strongly suggested.
Level 4:Standing Tuck and Triple Jumps to Handspring Tuck required. Round-Off Backhandspring Layout required. Standing Hand-Hand Lay and SpecialtyPass through to Layout strongly suggested.
Level 5:Four Jumps to Tuck required. Round-Off Backhandspring Full required. Standing Hand-Hand Full, Round-Off Hand Double, and Trick through to Full / Double strongly suggested.
**GEMS Team Placement is subjective and ultimately at the Coaches’ discretion, based on: Skill, Age, Potential, Work Ethic, and Overall Program Needs. Initial Group Placement is preliminary, and a reassessment of skills will take place prior to choreography. This is when Teams will be formed based off of prior assessments of the athletes. (Athletes may move up or down in Levels during reassessment.) A $30 Tryout Fee is required at the time of GEMS Evaluations. This fee will include a Tryout T-Shirt. If athlete attends our MaySkillsBuilding Blocks, they will receive our HIGH FIVE DISCOUNT and will only be charged a $5 Tryout Fee!

Q: When will Evaluation results be posted?
A:Results will be posted by Sunday, June 4th, at 8:00 PM.
Q;What’s new for SEASON SE7EN?
A:Our competition uniform is NEW and It is AWESOME! There are NO Miscellaneous Fees for February, March, and April. Everyone will be attending WSA Grand Nationals which is a 2-Day Event in NOLA that is super fun! Tuition decreased! Everyone will receive a subscription to an industry-leading CHEER magazine. Athletes will receive several competition based T-Shirts / Tanks throughout the season. We also have a personal training tool that everyone will receive to help them train and gain skills throughout the season.
Q:Do GEMS get a discount for additional classes?
A:Yes – GEMS will receive $20 Off on any additional classes that are taken during the 2017-18 Season. The discount does not apply to GEMS Monthly Tuition or Miscellaneous Fees.
Q:What are Flyer requirements?
A:Flyers are required to have certain body positions, including: Heel Stretch, Bow and Arrow, Scorpion and Scale. They must also be able to load-in, dismount, and basket according to their level. *Flyers with the best body positions will fly!*
Q:When is mandatory choreography week?
A:Choreography will be the week of July 24th – 31st. Times TBA.
Q:Are GEMS practices Open or Closed, and why?
A:GEMS Team Practices are Closed. It is vital to the success of the individual athletes and the team that practices are closed to spectators. There will be designated times that we will open practices to Family. These dates will be posted at a later time.
Q:Is Auto-Debit optional?
A:Auto-Debit is strongly suggested. Anyone who chooses not to go on Auto-Debit and does not pay with check or cash prior to the due date, will be charged an additional $20 LATE CHARGEto their tuition.
