Wednesday 15th July 2015
Dear Parents and Carers,
We hope you managed to attend our Open Evening and enjoyed looking around the school. We received lots of positive comments from visitors. The art work was particularly admired and I am pleased to report that we received an additional arts trophy from the Christchurch Culture & Learning Arena for our “Long, Long Ago” exhibition. Well done to everyone for their efforts. Congratulations also to the following pupils for participating so well at the Mini Olympics competition with other local schools. The Year One and Year Two children came first! and represented the school so well, showing good behaviour and great sportsmanship!
Well Done to our champions!

Special Farewells
This is a very unusual time in the life of Christchurch Infants. We are saying goodbye to so many staff,
14 in total, leaving due to retirement, resignation, redundancy or relocation to a new school. So as the
academic year comes to a close we say a special thank you to Mrs Barker, Mrs Bell, Mrs Fernand,
Mrs Firth, Mrs Henshaw, Miss Kelly, Mrs Long, Miss Taylor, Mrs Turner and Mrs White.
An extra special mention should also be made of Mrs Clark, Mrs Rann, Mrs Wellings and Mrs Whitehorn, who have worked in Christchurch Infants for a significant period of time and given much to the school and the pupils. Between them they have worked in school for 82 years! We thank all the staff who are leaving for everything they have done for the school. They shall be greatly missed and we wish them all the very best for whatever the future holds.
Thanks also to Penny, Amy, Lisa, David and the PTFA team for all their hard work on behalf of the children of CIS. We are also saying a fond farewell to all our Year Two helpers who have supported the PTFA over many years. Special thanks go to Becs Garner, Ed Dearlove, Rachel Phipp and Sarah Puttick for all the support they have given the school.
And finally, a fond farewell to all our Year Two pupils and the children of classes 1DW and FL. We have been very proud of having them at Christchurch Infants and we wish them every success in their future school careers. We hope they will keep in touch and let us know how they are getting on.
We wish all our families a happy and safe holiday. School for Year One and Year Two reopens on Wednesday 2nd September.
Yours sincerely,
Mrs JS Ashenden
Headteacher
