Dear Parents and Carers

Welcome to Everest Community Academy. I hope that once you have read this prospectus you will be convinced that coming here will be the start of a special time in your child’s education. Choosing the right secondary school is a very important decision. You obviously want your child to be happy and successful, so you need to feel confident that Everest will provide a creative and challenging environment where this will be achieved.

You will be joining us at exciting time. The School joined the Bourne Education Trust on the 1st September 2017 and it could not have found itself a better vehicle for rapid improvement. The Trust is one of Surrey’s leading multi-academy trusts and it has been asked to replicate its success here in Hampshire. Everest is its first Hampshire school and the Trust is both determined and confident that Everest will be a high performing school by the time of its next Ofsted inspection in 2020.

The Trust was established in 2013 and consists of 10 schools, 5 secondary and 5 primary. Everest will benefit from this ready-made support network as well as advice and experience from those who have been through similar school improvement journeys. The Trust gives us the chance to share our good practice but it also constantly reminds us of the need to be self-critical and unrelenting in our drive for further improvement. Our aim is simple and straightforward: we want to be a beacon of excellence and deliver a world-class education to your child. We are committed to working tirelessly to achieve this aim.

At Everest we have a school that will unlock your child’s talents, has great facilities and listens to the students by putting them at the heart of everything that we do. We believe that every child matters and we know that every child can achieve. We are absolutely committed to raising standards. The staff and students know what success tastes like and are hungry for more. We want your child to achieve his or her very best both inside and outside the classroom.

The best way to find out what Everest is like is to come and see us in action. Every day is open day and you are very welcome to come and look around. Please make an appointment to come and see us.

I very much look forward to meeting you.
