I still have in memory last Fly-Inn in Austria. It was a pleasure to get acquainted with so many dedicated builders and flyers and also so many beautiful planes. Christian Meier had made a magnificent arrangement and the Alps are so beautiful. During the meeting I was asked to arrange something in Sweden. It is maybe a little bit longer trip for many of you but I can tell you Sweden can be really nice.
Therefore I would like to invite all of you to visit Stockholm on the 13th and 14th of June. We will meet up at Stockholm Barkarby airport ESKB located very close to Stockholm. At Barkarby (950 m asphalt) you can land and park free of charge. There will be arrangement to visit Stockholm on Saturday and I will be able to help you with your accommodation. If you would like to continue stay in Stockholm you are free to do so at your own initiative. www.barkarbyflygklubb.se unfortunately not in English.
North west of Stockholm about 1/2 hour flight there is a new Airpark were pilots are building there summerhouses. Four Lancair owners are presently building there own houses. Two from Sweden, one from Germany and one from Norway. The airport is called Siljansnäs ESVS (850 x 16 m asphalt, no landing fee and no parking fee) On the 18th of June there will be a celebration at the airport and we are all welcome to join. On the 19th of June it is Midsummer Eve and we are all again invited to take part in a traditional Midsummer party. The stay at Siljansnäs will be on your own initiative but we will guide you for accommodation in the village nearby. Siljansnäs is a popular place at midsummer so you need to book in time. The landscape is very beautiful and there are many airports to visit in the area. If you decide to stay the whole week in Sweden I can also recommend a visit to the island Gotland ½ hour SE of Stockholm. The airport is called Visby ESSV. Visby is an ascent Hansa town very picturesque situated by the sea. They have a flying club with budget accommodation and there are many other options in the town. Visby has many night activities too. Visby does charge landing and parking fee. www.gfk.i.se
