Dear Groton- Dunstable Community,
Ben Goss is an active 14 year old from Dunstable who is supposed to be attending his freshman year at the Groton Dunstable HS. As many of you are aware as shown by your support of Ben and his family, Ben was seriously injured in a car accident on July 22nd. Although he was riding in the back seat, he sustained a serious spinal cord injury and spent 21 days at Children’s Hospital in Boston. Yesterday, he was transferred to The Shepherd Rehabilitation Center in Atlanta Georgia where he will spend the next three months facing the biggest challenge of his life.
Ben is a true athlete! He is a skilled and avid Lacrosse player, playing primarily the left “attack” position. He played on a U15 Team as well as U15 Select team which was made up of Groton, Dunstable and Littleton players. Ben is also a member and Captain of the elite Top Gun Indoor Lacrosse league. Ben’s determination and physical fitness will power his rehabilitation - Every player, parent, and coach describes Ben as the quintessential "good kid.
The community is hosting a family fundraiser to assist in the payment of Ben’s extraordinary expenses not covered by insurance.
