Dear Global Giving,

Please find the following our grant applications / business plan for the 2013 Christmas Pantomime for which we have the same budget for our 2014 Holiday Pantomime.

ABOUT US

Daytrippers was founded in 2003 to help children with disabilities; life limiting or terminal illnesses enjoy amazing experiences at no or very little cost in the UK.We do this by either funding group daytrips or hosting our own larger scale events which encourages the children to reach social, physical and cognitive goals through fun. The days out have the potential to relieve stress for the family, strengthen emotional bonds in new environments and provide a rare opportunity to attend a special, safe and fully accessible day out. Daytrippers celebrates its tenth year in 2013 and in May we welcomed the 20,000th child at Special Children’s Day which we co-sponsor with London Zoo

THE PROJECT

We are requesting a grant in the amount of £4400.00 to cover the venue, staff, performance and presenter hire for our annual Christmas Pantomime in 2013 at Lyric Theatre. We have built up a relationship with the Lyric Theatre since 2007 which kindly agreed to give us the same rate as in 2012. The nearly 500 nationally registered disabled, ill and or terminal children who attend the Christmas Pantomime will be sure to have a wonderful time as this is one of our most sought after events. The theatrical story-telling along with the good, laughable fun of a traditional panto is one of the highlights that the children continue to report in their feedback. Nearly all of these children are unable to watch a typical pantomime performance due to his special needs. With this in mind, we ensure to provide a safe environment, with closed-captioning for the hearing impaired, front seating for those with visual impairments and chill-out rooms for children who may become over-stimulated or need time to regroup. One of the aspects Daytrippers prides itself on is that we focus on providing a safe environment where everyone feels welcome and all types of behaviour are catered to and accepted.

THE BUDGET

The Lyric Theatre venue, staff, performance hire / £4,000.00
Presenter / £400.00
TOTAL / £4,400.00

Daytrippers is committed to running this project annually and in particular to reaching out to new special schools and families each year through our growing database and social media accounts so that the impact of the Daytrippers Christmas Pantomime can benefit more to those in need. We would be grateful for any contribution towards this cause. Other applications have been recently sent to Help a Capital Child which kindly gave us a provisional grant in 2012 for our Christmas Pantomime and we hope you can help us this year in 2013. Please do not hesitate to contact me should you need any further information or have questions or concerns.
