Dear Future Junior Golfer:

Welcome to another season of fun and exciting junior golf!

We appreciate your interest in Seneca Golf Course’s Junior Program. Attached is an application for membership, schedule of events, rules and benefits for all members. The membership fee for the Masters Group and Little Linkers is $120.00 for the entire summer.

Our program will continue to be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Anyone new to the game or under the age of nine will be in the “LITTLE LINKERS GROUP” and will meet on Tuesdays. Participants returning to the program or who have a minimum of three years of golf experience will be in the “MASTERS GROUP” and will meet on Thursdays.

Little Linkers

Little Linkers will meet on Tuesdays from 10:15am-11:30am.(Please arrive at least 15 minutes early) This class covers instruction only and is designed for beginning golfers that do not have a lot of golf experience. Ages range from 6-14 years old. The class will cover all aspects of golf such as:

  • Rules & Etiquette
  • Youth Golf Course Development
  • Putting, Short Game, Irons, Woods
  • Camaraderie- Develop social skills
  • Developing skills for the golf course

Masters Group

Masters Group will meet on Thursdays from 10:15am-11:30am. This class covers instruction and playing 9 holes on the golf course starting around noon. (Must purchase green fee each week) This class is designed for intermediate to advanced golfers who are serious about playing in competitive competitions. The instruction is more detailed and will cover all aspects of golf such as:

  • Rules & Etiquette
  • Mental aspect of the Game
  • Putting, short game, bunkers
  • Irons and woods (How to work the ball)
  • Competition
  • Pre-Shot Routine

New 2016 Junior Camp

A week long camp will be hosted the week of Spring BreakApril 5th-April 8th. The camp will be open to any participants however; there will be a limitation on the amount of members taken. Please sign up accordingly. The camps will include morning instruction, lunch, and optional rounds of golf. The class times will be from 9am-12pm daily with lunch being between 10am-11am. The cost for either of these programs will be $120. There will be a week-long camp June 7th-10th. Times on these dates will be announced closer to the start date.

PGA Junior League

PGA Junior League Golf (PGA JLG) is designed to better socialize the game for boys and girls, ages 13 and under. PGA JLG features team vs. team competitions in structured leagues that provide a popular, less stressful scramble format as opposed to stroke-play competition. This is a great way to get kids involved in the game! ($225.00 Fee) Must sign-up at

All classes will be involved in Junior Club Championship, scramble and youth course activities.

Juniors that are interested in participating in tournaments this summer, Seneca and Crescent Hill will be hosting the 72ndannual Junior Fall City Match Play Championship. Seneca Golf Course will be hosting a Metro Parks Junior Tour event this yearon August 1st. For more information on these and other tournamentssee the third page for details.

Note: Little linkers will meet on Tuesdays from 10:15-11:30 unless otherwise notified. Masters group will meet on Thursdays for instruction from 10:15-11:30AM and will begin tournament Play around noon. In case of inclement weather and we are forced to cancel a session, the session will be integrated into the next week. There will be no makeup days!

Junior Club Benefits

All paid members will receive the following benefits:

  • Youth Course privileges. (April 1st-November) With Donations from the First Tee of Louisville, UPS, State Rep. John Yarmuth, and Council Person Brent Ackerson there will be a new 9-hole youth course, offered to any junior golfer. This will be a great asset for the City of Louisville’s youth. Growing the game of golf will help our local youth grow as young people and mature into young adults.
  • Instruction during all junior club sessions is included in the membership fee. The only additional cost is for the green fee for juniors that play.
  • Juniors will have access to all equipment, golf clubs, golf balls, teaching aids, or instructional devices for all sessions.
  • Junior club members will be able to purchase range balls for practice on their own time at 50% off. ($3.00 per token May31st –September 30th)
  • NEW!!!Any junior club member who wishes to establish an 18-hole handicap will be able to do so through membership of the club. (Free)

Junior Club Rules

  • Have Fun!
  • Boys and girls ages 6-17 are eligible for the club.
  • Always make sure that no one is around you, behind you, or standing too close before swinging a golf club.
  • Scores must be kept accurately and honestly at all times.
  • Any conduct that is thought to be detrimental to the reputation of the junior club will not be tolerated.
  • All members are expected to do their part to maintain the golf course. This includes throwing trash into the garbage cans, repairing ball marks on the greens, raking bunkers, and replacing divots. Any abuse to the golf course or the clubhouse facilities will result in expulsion from the club.
  • All golfers playing the golf course will be required to purchase a green fee from the pro shop counter before teeing off. Cost is $9.50 weekday, $17.00 weekend. Twilight rates are available on the weekends after 4:00 pm for $9.50.
  • Any member who wishes to establish a handicap must post all 18-hole scores!

Note: Metro Parks Annual Passes can be purchased for any junior at the cost of $90 per year. A user fee of $1.75 will be charged instead of the normal $9.50 junior rate. However, Metro Parks Annual Passes are only good on weekdays (Monday – Friday). For more information, please call the Metro Parks office at 456-8100.
