Dear Confirmation Parents,

Enclosed is an envelope from Mortensen Photography, which can be used to order pictures of the Confirmation Class.

  • The picture will be taken following the 2:00 pm Confirmation Mass on Monday, June18, 2017.
  • All students need to be on the picture even if you do not plan on ordering a picture. A copy of the picture is kept for the parish archives. Parents and other family members will be able to take their own pictures after the photographer has finished.
  • The envelope, with payment to Mortensen Photography, needs to be returned to me no later than June15th. They can be brought with the students to the last class, to the practice or dropped off at the Parish Office prior to that date. Ordered pictures will be sent directly to your home address from Mortensen Photography.

Practice for Confirmation is on Thursday, June15th at 7:00 pm at St. Kilian Church.

  • Students and their sponsors should arrive at the church by 6:50 pm.
  • It is your responsibility; to remind your son or daughter’s sponsor about the practice and time of Confirmation.
  • All students are required to be at the practice.
  • If a student’s sponsor cannot be at the practice, a parent, or another adult, will need to attend with the student to obtain information for the sponsor.
  • Practice will take less than an hour if everyone is on time and attentive to what is going on.

  • Group pictures will follow the Confirmation Liturgy in the Gathering Space. Please let the photographer take pictures first!
  • Remember that gum, candy, and beverages are not allowed during Mass.
  • Please turn off your cell phones or any electronic devices so they won’t disrupt the prayerfulness of the celebration.
  • Church is generally full and you may need to slide over in order to accommodate others.
  • Allow yourself enough time for parking and walking into church.
  • Please inform any family members that will be in attendance about these as well.

At the parent/candidate meeting in October, I talked about the Baccalaureate Mass honoring high school graduates that are members of St. Kilian Congregation. The Confirmationclass and their parents are asked to provide food and serve for an Appetizer Reception that will follow the 4:30 pmMass on Saturday, June 10th. This will be done for your children next year!

Ellen Kohler volunteered to coordinate the reception following Mass. She could use help organizing this event. The coordinator(s)have been sent a list of names along with email and phone contact information and will be calling or e-mailing all 11th grade families for volunteers to help and to determine what everyone will be bringing. Next year, your sons and daughters will be honored at a similar mass and reception.

God’s Peace and Blessings,

Dennis Vlasak, DRE
