having read the Call for applications no.34 /2014 based on qualifications andpossible interviewfor a collaboration contract in accordance with Article 2222 et seq. of the Civil Code which, for the purposes of taxation and contributions, will take the form of a “continued and co-coordinated collaboration” or of self-employment, depending on the person’s tax status, at CIMeC - Centre for Mind/Brain Sciences,withinthe project TRANSFER-LEARNING “Transfer Learning within and between brains” – ERC Consolidator grant n. 617629, funded by European Research Council, for carrying out the following activity:

A / Pricipal investigator / Prof. Giorgio Coricelli
B / Object of the contract (detailed description of the activities) / Scientific collaboration in the ERC project “Transfer Learning Within and Between Subjects” research. The position requires collaboration in research design, use of computational models for neurophysiological experimental data analysis, development of learning models and teaching computational aspects to the other group members.
C / Profile required / The candidate should have adequate scientific curriculum pertinent to the expected position, in particular:
  • Ph.D. in Cognitive Neuroscience or related disciplines, awarded by an Italian university or a foreign one and recognized as equivalent to the Italian qualification by the Evaluation committee for the sole purposes of this selection procedure
The candidate should match the following profile:
  • experience (documented by publications in peer-reviewed journals) in cognitive neuroscience
  • an advanced level of competence in English
  • expertise in computational modelling of behavioral, psychophysiological and neurophysiological data
  • advanced programming experience either with Matlab, C++ and Python
  • experience in working with reinforcement learning algorithms (model-free and model-based), Bayesian inference and learning methods, statistical analyses for model optimization, model comparison and model-based analysis of behavioral and physiological data
  • recognized experience both in computational modelling and in neurobiological experimentation (human or animal behavior and either fMRI, EEG, or Electrophysiological recordings)
  • the candidate should be expert in Reinforcement Learning (RL) and in its most recent advances such as model-based and model-free RL, meta-learning
  • experience in integrating multiple computational models for various cognitive functions such as learning, self-monitoring, working-memory.
