Saunders Pasture Forestry Management – Dan Cyr
Consensus that the plan submitted by Bay State is well written. Saunders Hill is not a scenic road. Plan is laid out into stands – majority is heavy pine, but low value. Long-term management plan to open up more wildlife areas, release apple trees and other species, which would provide mast. Leave some tall forked pines for raptors; create brush piles for other wildlife habitats, cut stand #2 for a grazing food plot, i.e. clear cut but not stumped to allow for brush regrowth. Skidder trails to timber will be turned into hiking trail access into unused areas. Dan Cyr will lay out and mark trails for least impact and least damage to standing timber. Once cut, the extra sunlight will encourage growth of invasive species already present – would require use of herbicide to control. Round-up or rodeo were suggested, both are safe for use near wildlife and water, however timing is important for application. Bay State will apply the initial herbicide and CC will take over application maintenance.
Motion made, seconded and affirmed to move forward on the management plan as presented on 41 acres at $100/acre.
Blazing and Painting of trees to start 11/3/06, plans are to log this winter.

Tax Map/Lot – 2-62 – Twin Bridge Road – Tris Gordon
Ongoing issues with proposed subdivision – as of 10/23/2006 no variances will be granted on cul-de-sac length. Plans shown with 2 cul-de-sacs longer than the 1,000 feet allowed by Subdivision Regulations, so must now be connected into a loop road that will impact the wetlands.
Tax Map/Lot – 2/112-2 – Weare Road – LaChance
CC will take the easement on this development, Wilson to draft letter to Planning Board.
Saunders Trail Work
Roger Noonan will be there this week to brush hog pasture.
Tax Map/Lot 1-51 – Francestown Road – Brouillet
DES letter reviewed – historical after the fact fill. The fill was placed in the wetlands in early 1970’s. DES will not seek to remove fill, requires a buffer between the home site and no further impact.
Proposed Wetlands Ordinance
Burr Tupper, Jed Callen, Ken Lombard, James Nordstrom, Nic Strong and Jack Munn of SNHPC have been working on the wording of the ordinance. Must be completed by 11/26/06 in time to present to Planning Board for inclusion on March 2007 warrant.
Trail Work
Volunteer group wants to help in maintenance and improvement of Railroad Trail. Burkhamer to speak with group.
Respectfully submitted,
