Rules

WIAA rules will be followed, with the following modifications:

1.  All Coaches must remain seated during their ENTIRE games.

2.  Two 18-minute halves, running time except for time-outs and the final two minutes of each half. If ahead by 20, running time throughout entire game. Four-minute halftime. (If games are running behind, timing may be modified at gym coordinators discretion to: running time except for time-outs and the final one minute of each have and/or a two or three minute halftime period, etc.)

3.  Overtime: 2 minute overtime with first possession determined by jump ball. Running clock for the first minute with one time-out per team. If still tied after 2 minutes then play will continue “Sudden Death” style. First possession determined by jump ball with no time-outs.

4.  Two time-outs per half. They can’t be carried over to the next half.

5.  Bonus foul shots: (1 and 1) on the 7th team foul per half. Two free throws on the 10th team foul.

6.  Defensive Restrictions: 7th & 8th grade may play any defense. No zone defense for grades 5 & 6. 5th & 6th grades may play zone presses, but must fall back to man-to-man defense after press is broken. Broken press is considered after ball passes half court and is controlled by the offense.

7.  No full court press with a 15 point lead. 5th 6th grades can full court press only in the last two minutes of each half.

8.  Technical fouls will not be shot. Bench and player technical fouls will result in an automatic 2 points plus possession of the ball. Two technical fouls on an individual or coach results in ejection from the game, three technical fouls on one team in a game will result in an automatic forfeit of tournament.

9.  Game official decisions are final: no protests allowed. Issues should be directed to the tournament director, not the referees.

10.  Tiebreakers will be broken based on head-to-head play, then lowest defensive total points allowed, then if needed by coin toss.

11.  Teams are responsible for own practice balls and first aid kit.

12.  No player can play on more than one team on the same day.

13.  All liability for injury, accident, theft or loss must be accepted by participants. The Plymouth Area Basketball Association (PABA) will not be responsible.

Rules and registration forms subject to change at the tournament committee’s discretion.
