Date______Top Ten #9 -second chance concepts

Throughout this unit we have tried to reinforce some elementary school rules (to make a word that ends in consonant + y plural, change the y to i and add es) and explore some more grade level concepts that exist in our language (north and south are only capitalized when used as a place and not as a direction). Those rules were, like all grammar instruction, transferred to our writing. To demonstrate that understanding, you were asked to correct passages’ noun-related mistakes on the quiz. However, since editing in context can always be the toughest part of writing, the #9 second chance will ask you to focus on specific word choices. Complete the task by circling the choice that best completes the sentence based on the rules we have reviewed.
