Job Title

Data Administrator

Job purpose and key functions

  • Enhance the way the college uses data to effectively show impact
  • Producing and presenting clear, concise accurate information that you will report to college managers, trustees and stake holders
  • Tracking and monitoring the progress of students
    Registering and certificating students for accreditation, usingsystems owned by awarding bodies
  • Improve current MIS systems and stay up to date with systems that externally monitored and updated, such as the ILR

The successful candidate will:

Be confident in using MIS, databases and excel spreadsheets

Ideally have worked in an education setting and used SIMS or equivalent system and able to use the ILR.

Be able to analyse data and make recommendations for improvement, based on sound evidence

Have excellent analytical, problem solving and reporting skills

Be able to work on own and collaboratively with others, especially in supporting colleagues to understand the data and to train them to use systems to access data.

Core duties

  • Tracking student development through the achievement of goals, targets, objectives and EHCP outcomes.
  • Tracking student development through attendance, retention and participation.
  • Collate the results of questionnaires and surveys sent to students, parents/carers and trustees.
  • Support other staff to access and understand data, including sub-contracted provision.
  • Clearly present data from surveys visually and factually and confidently discuss findings
  • Support the planning and implementation of new timetables. Ensure the altering of timetables are recorded with a justification and communicate these changes to all parties involved.
  • Collate the college’s data to share with other colleges in the East Midlands Peer Review Development group (EM-PRD), in the format required.
  • Be the college’s lead for data and be able to share ideas for improving how data is collected and used with other colleges and Databridge.
  • Input into the ILR and stay informed of new requirements/updates.
  • Be the main contact with Databridge and be able to facilitate development meetings between Databridge and the college.
  • Collation information for the college’s self-assessment, such as destinations, learner achievement rates for RARPA and accreditation
  • Setting up and keeping up to date college systems - including timetabling, formal observations
  • Be responsible for the data dashboard, ensuring that this is kept up to date with accurate data and available for Trustee meetings
  • Ensure performance indicators provided to trustees are accurate and presented in time for Trustee board meetings.
