Daily Cleaning Procedures

Lobby

  • Floor area to be hovered in the morning prior to the children entering the building if there are lots of bits on the floor.

Main Play area

  • Antibacterial spray (Trio 100 diluted 6mls into 750mls water)to be used after activities with yellowcloth on all activity tables at regular intervals throughout the day.
  • Hard surfaced floor will be moped using yellow mop and bucket when messy.
  • Tables are cleaned using a blue cloth prior to lunch.
  • Floor area to be swept after lunchtime and when there are lots of bits on the floor e.g. sand, rice general malleable items.
  • Chairs need to be wiped down using a blue cloth after lunch using Trio 100 (diluted as above).
  • Bins to be emptied daily.
  • Door handles and intercom handset to be wiped with antibacterial wipes at the end of each day.

Toilets

  • Antibacterial spray to be kept in toilets, out of reach of children at all times.
  • Toilets will be checked at the beginning of the day and wiped down if soiled, during lunchtime and again at the end of the day. Toilets are cleaned more regularly if specifically required (e.g. if a child has hand, foot and mouth). Use separate tissue paper for each toilet and flush away.At the end of the day a red cloth will be used to clean the toilets using Trio 100 and thrown away.
  • A separate redclothto be kept with spray, for use on basins and surrounds.
  • Floor will be moped after morning break, after lunch and at the end of the day using a redmop and bucket.
  • At the end of the day everything is to be put away in the cupboard.
  • Staff will sign a chart on the Ipad to say toilet area has been checked and cleaned.

Kitchen

  • Separate bluecloth to be used for washing up.
  • Separate bluecloth to be used with antibacterial spray (Trio 100 diluted as above) on all surfaces before and after food preparation.
  • Kitchen should be wiped down after snack things have been washed up or after additional use as necessary.
  • All plastic cups and plates used by the children should be cleaned in the dishwasher daily along with other crockery and utensils.
  • Wet or soiled linen to be washed immediately and dry or damp linen can be placed in the dirty laundry bin in the disabled toilet and washed when a load is ready.
  • Due to Health & Safety Regulations, washing is not to be performed when the cooker is in use.

Weekly/Fortnightly Cleaning Procedure

  • Deep clean all tables, chairs, cupboard tops and kitchen area - weekly
  • Wipe down all role play furniture - weekly
  • Disinfect water and sand trays with a suitable disinfectant i.e. Milton.
  • All toys to be cleaned on a rota system (*See separate rota) using disinfectant.
  • Dressing up clothes and blankets to be washed in the washing machine at the end of each half term or as needed.
  • All mop heads to be washed in washing machine weekly at changed at the end of every half term or more frequently if heavily soiled.

The Pre-school will be deep cleaned weekly by staff.
