1.3 SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
- Components
- Snow Fence Snow guard system consists of snow guard deck mount bracket designed to accept 6”, 8”, or 10” diameter log.
- Design Requirements:
- System design: Design snow retention as complete system with all components furnished by same manufacturer.
- Accessories and fasteners: Capable of resisting design forces in accordance with applicable Building Code.
- Provide engineered system to fail point of all components, framing, decking, fasteners, roofing, and snow guards.
1.4 SUBMITTALS
- Submittals for Review:
- Shop Drawings: Show locations of snow guards on roof and attachment spacing.
- Product Data: Include manufacturer's product data sheets on each product to be used and installation instructions.
- Samples:
- Individual deck mount snow guard sample.
- Color chips showing available colors.
- Sustainable Design Submittals:
- Recycled Content: Certify percentages of post-consumer and pre-consumer recycled content.
- Regional Materials: Certify location of material manufacturer and distance from manufacturer to project site.
1.5 QUALITY ASSURANCE
- Installer Qualifications: Minimum 2 years experience in work of this Section.
- Recycled Content: Minimum [__] percent recycled [aluminum] [steel] [stainless steel] [copper], with minimum [__] percent classified as post-consumer.
1.6 DELIVERY, STORAGE AND HANDLING
- Stack materials to prevent damage and to allow for adequate ventilation.

PART 3 EXECUTION
3.1 EXAMINATION
- Verify that roofing materials, framing, decking, and fastenings are capable of resisting design forces in accordance with applicable Building Code.
3.2 PREPARATION
- Clean areas to receive attachments; remove loose and foreign matter that could interfere with installation or performance.
3.3 INSTALLATION
- Install in accordance with manufacturer's instructions and approved Shop Drawings.
- Place snow guards level and aligned.
- Fasten to supporting construction.
