Toy box with no boundaries
Eilersen has produced the answer to the ultimate sofa dream: A toy box that is so rich in content, that only your imagination sets the boundaries. The toy box is called RIG, and you can build into infinity. But RIG surprises, as it also is a small sofa.
“A mega diversity”. That is how Jens Juul Eilersen describes the latest addition to the line of Eilersen sofas. The name is RIG and anyone who experiences RIG unfolding can see where the sofa has its name from: A solid rig with clean lines that seem to be both heavy and light at the same time, because the concealed legs make the whole entity float with a proud here-I-come attitude.
A stroke of architectural genius deceives the eye and indulges the body
”The whole secret behind RIG’s style and unique comfort is that I have combined a high, slim back with a seat drop in the actual frame. The higher the back, the greater the seating comfort. But
a high back can steal the focus and make the sofa lose its optical balance. Which is why I have deceived the eye. My starting point is a back, which with its 66cm, is pretty high. In fact, it’s a whole 5 cm higher than the other cousins RIG can be compared to in our sofa family. On the other hand, the back has been slimmed down to just 18 cm. I camouflaged the high back’s optical weight with a horizontal seat, which makes the back and seat fuse together into a harmonious unity. A strong, built-in drop in the seat in the frame also ensures that you do not slide down the sofa, and combined with the frame’s foam padding, the great seat depth and our renowned down top makes it uniquely comfortable to sit in with extremely good support in the lumbar and back area. So RIG keeps its shape, keeps you comfortable – and snuggles warmly around you with its soft down.”
Customize sections ad libitum
”Our highly flexible production facilities, means that we have the muscles required to produce individual sofas to order. This gives an exceptionally flexible modular system that covers any need and makes it easy for the consumer to build their very own sofa group” guarantees Jens Juul Eilersen. ”The customers experience this as a special luxury on top of the renowned Eilersen quality. We produce all sections with a spring of 10 cm, so you can place the length of each element either in the middle or at the end. Both the middle and end elements are available right up to 220 cm and with a minimum measurement of 100cm and 120cm respectively. The chaiselong is available in sizes 120, 130 and 140cm width, and the whole lot is grounded on 6cm high legs, Cushions are also available in a wide choice, and for RIG, we are producing several different sizes of back cushions which contribute to the optimal comfort.” Jens Juul Eilersen has great expectations of RIG. ”It's not too heavy, it is comfortable, classic, modern – and above all, an unlimited toy box with building blocks. And even though RIG invites you to build huge sofa landscapes, RIG can also be on a smaller scale. The slim, high back and the drop in the seat means that a single section is perfectly suited as a sofa in the small home” ends Jens Juul Eilersen.
Enjoy an Eilersen
Your home should be a place where you are most comfortable. Here you surround yourself with things you have chosen for yourself. Because you need them and because they appeal to you. Furniture shapes, colours and subtleties speak to your senses. Therefore, it really matters how the sofa fulfils its mission. Your sofa should be both comfortable to sit in - and live up to your life values and taste for the aesthetic. We all know the feeling of being a place we like. That's why we say: Enjoy an Eilersen.

Jens Juul Eilersen
Has since the mid-60s been responsible for design development at N. Eilersen A/S. Jens Juul Eilersen has no theoretical training - but rather a great interest and a fantastic talent. All his sofas are created according to the Golden Ratio, where the classical geometric conditions are guaranteed for balance and harmony in both functionality and expression. Jens Juul Eilersen has for example designed Eilersen's big seller “Monza” - a sofa with 25 years on the market that can legitimately call itself a classic. Jens Juul Eilersen has always had a nose for the innovative and has managed to patent several of his innovative designs.
