For a number of years now, I have specialised in working on all manner of turnaround and restructuring work. Nowadays I usually act as chairman or “CRO” in an executive or non-executive role, as appropriate.

I have held a number of non-executive directorships – both private and not for profit, including the Institute for Turnaround (formerly STP), which I chaired for two years.

After qualifying as an accountant, I worked for a shipping company (Overseas Containers Limited) until 1983. I then joined a major consultancy firm (originally Coopers & Lybrand Associates, then C&L Deloitte, then PwC). Since 1989, I have worked as an independent executive on turnarounds, before forming Aaronite Partners Limited in June 2006 with Mike Grant. Aaronite, which became the Aaronite Partnership LLP in June 2009, specialises in managing turnarounds and has a joint marketing agreement with Deloitte.

I am 59, married, have 2 adult children, live in Sevenoaks, Kent, but with a base in London.
