Customer Services (CSD) is a division of the Information & Communication Technology Services (ICTS) department. The division is responsible for the IT and Classroom Support Services (CSS) Helpdesks, student computer lab management services, ICT acquisition and installation, service level agreements and communicating with the University community on behalf of ICTS. The CSS team is responsible for audio-visual and ICT (AV/IT) provisioning and support in UCT’s centrally-bookable classrooms.

Applications are invited for dynamic and motivated people to fill these two year contract positions in the CSS team. The successful candidates will report directly to the Classroom Support Services Team Leader and will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth operation of the Classroom Support Services onsite function.

The successful candidate will be responsible for: • repairing and maintaining existing AV/IT equipment in classrooms • deliver, setup and collect mobile AV/IT equipment • researching and providing accurate and comprehensive solutions to customers • empower customers to make more effective use of the ICT services available to them • contribute solutions to the resolution database • provide basic multimedia services and process multimedia tasks • providing proactive, reactive and/or onsite support for lectures and other events taking place in UCT classrooms

Appointment requires:

·  A Senior Certificate (audio-visual and IT qualifications will be advantageous)

·  1 – 2 years working experience in an audio-visual and IT environment

·  Must be fully computer literate and have a working knowledge of common AV/IT hardware and software

·  Good problem-solving skills

·  Strong customer service ethic

·  Ability to work within a team

·  Well-developed interpersonal skills

·  Ability to work independently and under pressure

·  Good written and spoken communication skills

·  An unendorsed driver’s licence

Proven experience in one or more of the following will be advantageous: • ITIL • CTS • AV design

The monthly salary offered will be R11000.
