2011, March – May advisor to the Hungarian Ministry of the Interior
- advising the Ministry concerning tasks in the field of urban development during the Hungarian EU presidency
- advising the Ministry in questions of planning and building legislation

Since July 2007 vice-head of urban restructuring unit, German Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Development
- implementing a 1.1 billion Euro program of the Federal Government on urban restructuring in the new Länder,
- support to local governments for preparing development concepts to implement the program
- evaluation of the program
- implementing a similar program in the old Länder
- implementing urban research programs, especially on BIDs and HIDs, energy saving in urban development and urban adaptation to climate change
