English Copywriter. As the Agency’s in-house English writer, I worked on all types of projects across all media, including Print, TV, radio, Internet, Billboards, CDs/DVDs. As well as concept development and copywriting in English (including the launch of the President’s Choice Financial MasterCard & Ultramar’s Canada-wide Reveal-A-Deal campaign). I also handled all translations (French to English, literals & adaptations) for ongoing campaigns and for in-house purposes (websites, pitch presentations & documents, Press Releases, etc.) Client list included: Volkswagen, Virgin Mobile, Canada Revenue Agency, Ultramar, Budweiser, President’s Choice, Evian, Tourisme Québec.

• Canada Post. For 6 months I worked on the CPC Direct Marketing ‘how to’ manual and accompanying CD, brochures, mailings, videos, seminars, etc, etc.
• Canada Tourism Commission. Worked on many formats, strategies and tests to grow the database.
• Developed highly targeted campaign aimed at independent brokers for B2B Trust (a subsidiary of Laurentian Bank, and an on-line service for Financial Advisors)
• Developed hi-tech campaign for Look Communications.

• Innotech Aviation, Execaire, IMP group: set up integrated advertising & campaigns with exclusive trade shows (Executive jet aircraft) to woo high-end target audience
• Set up lead generation program for Montreal Bonaventure Hilton & Montreal Airport Hilton
• Highly specialized product (Etrali touch-screen phone/display for stockbrokers), successfully sold to very narrow market segment through combination of ‘event’ and direct marketing (This campaign winner of SQMD’s Fleche d’Or award, March ‘94.)
• Open Universal Software - oversaw merge-purge of house file with selected lists to target very specific IT end-users. Direct mail campaigns (mainly in US) delivered outstanding response & sales results.

Jan. ‘88 to Feb. ‘93
Creative Director, FCB Direct, Montreal

• Launch of Air Canada’s frequent flyer loyalty program, Aeroplan, as 3-tier program: Aeroplan Elite, Aeroplan Prestige and Aeroplan Basic. This involved building the database from zero members to the largest loyalty program in Canada. Quickly saw the value of mining this database.
• Launch of CIBC Aerogold: the most successful launch of a gold credit card EVER in Canada.
• Hilton International: Established on-going one-to-one customer relationships with frequent stayers, both for business and leisure.
• Established business-to-business direct marketing as the most successful marketing strategy ever for Air Canada Cargo.
• Worked with different companies (Airline, Hotel, Car Rental) to initiate Partner mailings to Aeroplan membership to establish on-going one-to-one customer relationships
