Curriculum In Action Visit: Visit Overview

To: Career Connection Cadre Member / Business Partner & Academy Teacher Teams

Purpose of the Curriculum in Action visit:

·  To view career academy integrated curriculum as it is being taught / delivered in the classroom. NOTE: This is not a formal teaching evaluation. This is an informal coaching session.

·  To highlight what academy students are learning in the classroom.

·  To showcase the effort that the academy team of teachers put into creating integrated, project-based, curriculum.

·  To offer teacher teams constructive feedback and suggestions.

·  To offer additional business partner support for what is happening in the academy curriculum.

·  To report back to the Career Connection Business Cadre what occurred during the visit as part of the Cadre’s Strategic Plan.

Before the visit:

·  Please read through the Visit Game Plan and any lesson documents provided.

·  E-mail confirmation will note where and when the visit will take place, as well as who will be attending the visit from the CTE District Team.

During the visit:

·  Using the Visit Stats sheet, the coaches will record comments regarding what was observed during the lesson. NOTE: all areas on the notes sheet may not be observable during a single class period.

·  For further clarification, students may be interviewed briefly at the conclusion of the class lesson.

After the visit:

·  Coaches will offer feedback to the academy teacher team by sharing their written Visit Stats in a face-to-face meeting, through e-mail, or via phone call.

·  Business partner will share the experience with the Career Connection Business Cadre.
