Current Trends in Computer Technology
Task: You will select one of the current trends in computer technology from the list below. You can also choose another current trend with approval from the teacher. You will have to research the trend and then complete a PowerPoint presentation. You will work in a small group and present your information to the class.
Here are some of the trends to keep an eye on:

· Self-Driving Cars
· 3D Printers
· Facial Recognition (No-touch Interfaces)
· Artificial Intelligence (AI)
· Augmented Reality (AR)
· Smart Home Technology
· Flexible Smartphones
· Drones
· Electronic Medical Records
· Remote-Controlled Surgery
Questions to answer:
· What is the trend? (define it)
· What are the main points of interest with trend? (bulleted list)
· What are the next advances with this technology? (this can be more than one slide)
· What would life be like without this technology? (make a prediction based on what you know about it)
Your PowerPoint must include:
· Title Slide
· Notes in the notes pane on each slide.
· Reference Slide with the address for each website that you used to find information (you will create a hyperlink to the page) – minimum of 3 sources (Wikipedia is not a source)
· Your slides should make direct reference to your sources to support your information (This information should be included in your notes pane)
· Appropriate images on each slide
· Appropriate transitions in and between each slide (transition times should match presentation)
· Remember to follow the 6 x 6 rule for slide preparation
Your Presentation:
· Each person in the group will be responsible for presenting part of your PowerPoint
· You will not be allowed to use notes or read from the slides
· You will practice your presentation before you present (This will be part of your class participation grade)
· Answer questions from the audience (Students will fill out an audience participation form)
Grading:
· PowerPoint – 24 points
· Presentation – 48 points
· Group Work – 24 points
· Participation – 16 points
· Reflection – 10 points
· Total – 120 points
