In the Firefox browser, if you are using keyboard navigation and a screen reader to navigate the Lessons tool, the focus might not transfer to dialog boxes when they open, but remain on the main page.
As a workaround, if you are using keyboard navigation and a screen reader, use the Chrome or Safari browser.

In the Firefox browser, if you are using a keyboard and a NonVisual Desktop Access (NVDA) screen reader to navigate the Lessons tool contents tree, you might be forced out of the tree unexpectedly.

- Go to the first content topic, and attempt to tap the Next or Previous buttons.
- Observe that the screen reader doesn't read the button labels.

- Log in to any 10.5 Brightspace Learning Environment.
- Access a course.
- Click on the Content tool.
- Create/step into a module.
- Observe the color of the New button.
This kind of blue button, seen all over, causes the issue. It's not just the New button, but Save, Save and Close, and so on.

While using the Tab key to navigate, the JAWS screen reader does not read the body of the message in an email.

To reproduce this issue:
- Enable the JAWS screen reader.
- In Brightspace Learning Environment, go to the Email tool and open an email containing body content.
- Listen to the audio, while using the Tab key to navigate.
- Observe that the JAWS screen reader does not choose the body of the message and goes straight to the Close button from the Flags dropdown (or back to the top of the page if message previews are enabled).

- User keyboard focus to access the word Change.
- Observe that when you press the down arrow, the screen reader speaks Change link.

Account Settings

When navigating Brightspace Learning Environment using the Safari browser, if your settings are configured to open secondary windows as pop-ups and your window is maximized, nearly empty tabs or windows are generated which only include the Save and Close button.
As a workaround, change your Account Settings to show secondary windows as dialogs.

To reproduce this issue:
- Log in to Brightspace Learning Environment with an administrator account using the Safari browser.
- Ensure that your browser window is maximized.
- Click your name, and from the drop-down list, select Account Settings.
- Under Dialog Settings, select Show secondary window as Pop-ups, and click Save and Close.
- Access a test course, and on the navbar, select Course Admin.
- Open the Sharing Groups tool, and click New Sharing Group.
- Observe the nearly empty pop-up that displays.
Activity Feed

When users select an existing hidden assignment and post it to the feed, the assignment fails to become visible to learners.
Found in Brightspace Learning Environment 10.7.9.
To reproduce this issue:
- Log in to Brightspace Learning Environment as an instructor, and access a test course with the Activity Feed widget enabled.
- From the navbar, click Assignments.
- Click New Submission Folder.
- Create a new assignment submission folder, and in the Restrictions tab ensure that Hidden from users is selected.
- Click Save.
- Navigate to the course home page.
- In the Activity Feed widget, click Create a post, and select Assignment.
- Click Select Existing, and select the assignment submission folder created in previous steps.
- Impersonate a learner.
- Observe that the Activity Feed assignment post is not visible to learners.

When editing a planned message post to contain an invalid or over-size file type, the post does not display an error message for the user when the file fails to upload.
Found in Brightspace Learning Environment 10.7.9.
To reproduce this issue:
- Log in to Brightspace Learning Environment as an instructor, and access a test course with the Activity Feed widget enabled.
- Click Create a post, and under Message create a planned message with a future posting date.
- Click View Planned Post.
- In the Planned Posts window, click the caret beside the planned message posting, and select Edit Message from the drop-down menu.
- Click Attach, and upload an invalid or over-sized file to the Editing Message window.
- Click Save Changes.
- Observe that the post dialog closes without displaying an error message when the file upload fails.

When using Activity Feed to create or edit a planned post in Internet Explorer 11, some users are unable to click in to text editable fields.
As a workaround, do one of the following:
-Click Clear all or click the quick link attachment and close the dialog box that opens.
-Bring up the Post Later dialog window, then click Cancel to close the window.
-Remove the Post Later date from the dialog window.

To reproduce this issue:
- Log in to Brightspace Learning Environment with Internet Explorer 11 as an instructor.
- Access a test course which has the Activity Feed widget enabled.
- In the Activity Feed widget, click Create a post.
- Create a message post, then click Post Later.
- Enter in a future date and time for the post to appear then click Schedule Post.
- Observe that users are unable to click and enter a message in the text field for the message post.

When editing an assignment post in Activity Feed, instructions containing rich text/HTML formatting for an existing assignment submission folder do not render correctly. Plain text is rendered to the user and editing any of the instructions overwrites the previous rich text/HTML formatting with plain text.

To reproduce this issue:
- Log in to Brightspace Learning Environment as an instructor, and create an assignment with instructions containing rich text/HTML formatting.
- Navigate to a course homepage with the Activity Feed enabled, and create a post.
- From the Assignment tab, click Select Existing and choose the previously created assignment, and then click Post.
- From the Activity Feed, edit the post by adding or changing any input field, and save the changes.
- Observe that the previous rich text/HTML formatting is overwritten with plain text formatting.

To reproduce this issue:
- Impersonating an instructor, in a course, click Edit Course and select Widgets.
- Click Search and browse for Activity Feed in the list of widgets.
- Click Add.
- Prepare the following activities:
- Add a hidden discussion forum to the learner role
- Add a module in Draft mode in the Content tool

- Create an inactive quiz.
- In the Brightspace Learning Environment widget you created, add the activities you just created.
- Impersonate the learner role that you used for the activities in step 4.
- In a course that uses Activity Feed, click the widget where you added the activities in Step 4.
- Click the links for the hidden discussion forum, the draft module, the hidden assignments folder, and the inactive quiz.
- Observe the error messages for each link.

A scheduled post on Activity Feed might have a 2-3 minute delay after the scheduled time before it goes live.

To reproduce this issue:
- Ensure that the Activity Feed widget is turned on for a course homepage.
- Create a post and schedule it to post to the feed a short time in the future, such as 10 minutes.
- Wait until the time when you scheduled the post.
- Refresh the Activity Feed.
- Observe that the post does not appear as expected.
- Refresh 2-3 minutes later to see the post as expected.

When attaching files to an assignment post in the Activity Feed, if the file fails to upload, a generic error message displays. This does not provide the user with any information on why their upload failed. Uploads can fail if the files size is too large, the file extension is not supported, or an internal error occurred.

- Access a test course with Activity Feed on its homepage.
- In the Activity Feed, click Create a post.
- Click Assignment, enter a title, and select the File Upload icon.
- Drag and drop a large file (>2MB) into the Upload a File window.
- Observe the 'Something went wrong, please check your post.' error message that displays.

When an instructor edits a learner's comment on the Activity Feed, the profile image next to the comment temporarily changes from the learner's to the teacher's. Once the instructor's edit is saved, the profile image reverts to the learner's image.

- Log in to Brightspace Learning Environment and access a test course with an Activity Feed on its homepage.
- Create a post text box, enter a message, and click Post.
- From the navbar, select Classlist and impersonate a learner.
- Make a comment on the Activity Feed post made in the previous steps, and end your impersonation.
- Locate the learner's comment on the Activity Feed and observe the learner's profile icon.
- Click Edit Post and observe that your icon now displays instead of the learner's.
- Save any changes and observe that the learner's icon returns.

Changes made to a user's account settings to modify their date and time zone are not respected by the Activity Feed widget. Brightspace Learning Environment always displays the activity feed's date and time information using the organization's default date and time zone.

- Change your preferred date format or time zone, and click Save and Close.
- Observe that the date and time that displays above the post has not changed.
