CTK SCHOOL BOARD MINUTES
October 24, 2017
Meeting called to order by President Jonathan M. at 8:16.
Fr. Schneider opened with prayer.

September minutes reviewed and approved.
Budget report per Fr. All finances are now handled in house.
Principal’s Report: 2 new students with 1 prospective coming January of 2018. 59 students are currently on the 2018-19 wait list. MAP testing was completed school wide, with at level or above results school wide. At the end of October, CTK applied to receive a Diocesan Grant for our Religion Program. Requests for an Atrium Assistant as well as additional items in the Atrium are included. Marg Marionae, a Catechesis of the Good Shepard presenter, will also be a request to make an appearance at CTK. As of Tuesday Oct. 24th, the CTK Walk a Thon had brought in $12,841!! Great job, all!!
Bishop Kagan will visit CTK on November 17th. He will celebrate mass with the students and staff as well as walk through the school.
New tuition rates for the 2018-19 school year were discussed and approved. A motion was made to approve a 10-month payment option, motion seconded and passed unanimously. More information to follow. Registration forms were revised as well and are scheduled to be out to families prior to Christmas Break.
PTO update was presented by Courtney K. The next meeting will be November 13th at 6 pm. PTO breakfast and bake sale scheduled for December 3rd. Baking help is appreciated. Parent volunteer commitment forms are a success. These forms will be used to help with the breakfast, Starry Night ball, Elf Shelf and Casino Night. Thanks to all parents who filled a form out and turned it in. Elf Shelf is on the books for December 18-21. The PTO is in need of men/boy/teen/infant and toddler items.
Mr. Flores gave an update on the CTK music program. He attended a 5-day course in DC on Chanting and is currently teaching it in E1. He also spoke of harmonizing in the church choir.
New Business: Free dress code coupons will now be awarded to SB parents who attend meetings (YEAH!!).
A parent meeting was held with Father and Mr. Nagel and the parents of the 3rd and 4th grade parents before the SB meeting. The possibility of a 4,5,6 Montessori program was discussed in depth. This would currently include 22 children. More information on the development of the plan to come before Christmas.
Maren gave an update on the Catholic United Raffle Campaign. It was decided to order 20,000 tickets this year. More info to come.
