Crooked Lake PTO Meeting Minutes April 18, 2016
Meeting called to order by Chairperson Tricia Gunville
Chairperson
· Introductions
Treasurer
Treasurer’s report was presented and approved.
· David LaRochelle is pending for next year
· Classroom supply checks for teachers either in September or October for 2016-17
· All carnival expenses in-may have credit/refund coming from extra prize
2016-17 Budget was approved
· Angel fund was created this year
· Amount increased for Safety Patrol T-shirts and trip to Mall of America
· Amount increased for teacher appreciation dinner
Two funding requests
· $252 for financial aid for students for Long Lake Trip
· $116 additional money for busing to Mall of America for Safety Patrol
· Both were approved (funding made available due to David LaRochelle funds)
Secretary
· March minutes approved
New Business
Board Nominations:
· Co-Chair: Patricia Gunville and Gretchen Jerskey
· Co-Treasurer: Michelle Behnke-Nead and another to be voted on in May
· Secretary: Andrea Butler
· All were voted on and approved
2016-2017 PTO schedule:
· PTO meetings, PTO board meetings, and Citizenship Awards will be moved to Tuesday night to try to increase attendance
Carnival follow up meeting April 19
· Looking at adding a way to accept credit cards at carnival (Square)
· Great volunteers from Blaine High School-thank you!
PE Fun day:
· Dunk Tank reserved
· Time slots filled by teachers
· Need volunteers
5th grade farewell party is a jungle theme
Staff Report:
· Ms. Boekhoff gave an update on the Kindness Retreat and shared Thank you notes from the students
· The 4H group that has been speaking to 4th graders will wrap up April 22
Principal’s Report
· Building Updates
· Lunchroom supervisor – to be filled in April
· Reading Corp: Looking for 2 – ½ time people to be hired by June. Vickie Vogel-Craig will support this.
· New hire: Amanda Jordan – Special Education Para
· Parent Drop Off: 9:15 – New signs
· Kindergarten Round- Up: March 30 – 6:00 – 7:00 Great turn out.
· Yearbook: Coming last week of May.
· Next Years Dates: Calendar for next year will need PTO review. Let us know when you would like to have your events.
· Yellow Forms available: Letting the office know about your plans for next year.
· Blue Forms available: Come and pick up in the office – if you are interested in giving input on a placement for next years classroom.
· Faith Partners: Riverdale, and Meadow Creek have a partnership with Crooked Lake.
· Fee Pay: Online Fee pay pilot for field trips for 2016 – 2017 school year.

Thank you for the Carnival folder, student forms and volunteer sign-in sheets. All information has been recorded in our database. 204 hours are registered but we know many more hours of service have been dedicated to this effort. Feel free to turn in your time if you can estimate what you have preformed.

· Field Trip Chaperone Processing: 5th Grade Long Lake volunteers processed

· P.E. Fun Day – flyers out, I have been processing volunteers as they come in and forwarding the information on to Mr. Arnston.
· Possible DI Leader for 2016-17 school year, coming to Crooked Lake from Ramsey Elementary. Has been involved in the Ramsey PTO and would like to get involved here next year.
