In this era of impacting economic inequality through initiatives to build community wealth, nonprofits must use traditional and nontraditional ways to measure their work, evaluate their contributions to the community, and tell their story in the context of community wealth. In this workshop you will learn about one nonprofit’s effort to advocate for their mission through effective and compelling story telling.

#2: WV Advocacy & Lobbying 101

Advocacy is a powerful way to leverage the important mission work that your organization does in your community. But what does it really mean to advocate? What is the difference between advocacy and lobbying? In this workshop you will learn the difference so you can educate your board members and volunteers to help increase the likelihood of your nonprofits success in advocacy engagement.

Join us as we unpack some recent policy wins through the nonprofit and philanthropic arenas.This presentation will share thesuccesses and mistakes made in recent legislative sessions and how to work with legislators from both sides of the aisle. This workshop is for moderate to expert level policy advocates.
