PETER NUSTAD
Peter Melvin Nustad, 98 of 1401 W. Sixth St., formerly of Huron, died Monday, April 17, 1995, at the Canton-Inwood Hospital in Canton.
Mr. Nustad was born Aug. 8, 1896. pm a farm in Morefield. He attended Thompson County School and then worked at the Sven Kirkeby farm. He later attended Columbia Business School in Sioux Falls.
He married Gertrude Wylie in October 1917. She died in October 1919.
He married Lillian Larson in 1924, in Huron. She died Aug. 21, 1985. He worked for Haley-Neeley wholesale grocery business in Huron and later moved to Eugen Ore. He worked as a salesman for Newton Manufacturing Company in Eugene until 1981. He retired and then moved back to Sioux Falls in 1982.
He was a member of the Renner Lutheran Church.
He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Lester (Gwen) Farley of Renner; two grandsons: eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services will begin at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Renner Lutheran Church in Renner, with burial at West Nidaros Lutheran Cemetery in rural Crooks.
Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. today at the Minnehaha Funeral Home in Baltic, with the family present from 7 to 8 p.m.

Peter Melvin Nustad was born August 8, 1896, to Magnus and Anna Nustad on a farm near Morefield, South Dakota. He attended Thompson Country School. As a young man, he worked on the Sven Kirkeby farm and later attended Columbia Business School in Sioux Falls. He married Gertrude Wylie in October 1917. Gertrude died in October 1919, leaving a daughter, Gwendolyn.
In 1924 Peter married Lillian Larson in Huron where he was employed by Haley-Neeley, a wholesale grocery business. He moved to Eugene, Oregon, where he was a salesman for Newton Manufacturing Company until 1981. He moved back to Sioux Falls in 1982 where he enjoyed his retirement. Lillian died August 21,1985.
Peter was a member of Renner Lutheran Church.
Peter died Monday, April 17,1995, at Can-ton-Inwood Hospital in Canton.
Grateful for having shared his life are his daughter, Mrs. Lester (Gwen) Farley, Renner; two grandsons; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and twelve brothers and sisters.
