On Saturday, April 27th, 2013, we’re holding our 14th annual Crab and BBQ Beach Party fundraiser, themed “Margaritaville” – a tribute to all things tropical. Proceeds fund local youth college scholarships, literacy projects and warm clothing and coats for our local elementary schools, vital dental services for our local veterans, community service projects and international campaigns such as polio eradication and clean water projects in El Salvador and Panama.

This year’s event is being held at the Boy’s and Girl’s Club, 2680E. 9th Street, Sparks, Nevada, the same location as last year. To make this event a success we need your help! Your past support has been vital to the success of our event and the funding of these programs. You or your business may contribute auction items and/or purchase tickets.

We are all feeling the effects of the economic downturn but no one feels it more than those less fortunate. Our Rotary club has adopted an at-risk school;EchoLoderElementary School in Central Reno, as well as local nonprofit agencies that assist the disabled, elderly, and children who are in desperate need of assistance. We also provide worthy students at Hug and WoosterHigh Schools with academic scholarships to attend college, and sponsor holiday dinners for our local senior citizens. Internationally, our Club helped fund medical supplies for a non-profit hospital in Uganda, spearheaded a clean water project in El Salvador, and raised thousands of dollars to help in the fight to eradicate polio.

Our auction generates most of the annual funds our club uses for our charitable giving. Your donations are critical to make this another successful event.
