** Note: The schedule of topics and dates material is covered is subject to change.

Exams: No make up exams are given unless the student informs the instructor BEFORE the exam and has a doctor’s excuse.

Laboratory Exercises: Labs are due at the beginning (NLT 8:05 or 11:05 or 2:05 depending on lab section) of lab. Labs turned in during the lab period in which they are due after five minutes past the hour will receive a one point late penalty. All other late labs receive a 10% reduction in score per day late. No make up labs are given. The lowest lab score is dropped.

Since laboratory is an integral part of General Chemistry, a passing grade will not be given to any student who misses more than two scheduled lab periods and/or does not turn in 5 or more labs.

Homework Problem Sets: Homework should be done on a daily basis. As material is covered you will find the problems are easier to work and not as time consuming as saving them for the last minute before an exam. Homework will be collected at the beginning of the class. These are graded by randomly selecting 5 problems for 2 points each. Therefore, each problem set is worth 10 points. No late homework is accepted. One lowest homework score is dropped.
