Country Operations Summer Student
Manitoba: Gilbert Plains, Transcona, Gladstone, Beausejour
The successful applicant will receive training and experience in many aspects of P&H's Western Canadian business. They will provide support to country facilities through the completion of various duties in the areas of crop inputs, grain operations, or a combination thereof as determined by business needs and individual capabilities.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Assist The Facility As Needed To Support the Crop Inputs Business
o Maintain chemical sheds in a clean and organized fashion
o Assist in unloading inbound trucks and shipments of product and outbound shipments for farmers
o Assist the facility in organizing and tracking inventory in chemical sheds
o Deliver product to farmers when necessary
o Assist in crop and field diagnostics and putting up field signs
o Assist CSRs with data entry and paperwork as required
· Assist The Facility As Needed To Support The Grain Business
o Assist in unloading inbound trucks and shipments of grain
o Assist in performing routine grain sampling (i.e. dockage testing)
o Assist with data entry and paperwork as required
· Work with other Business Areas and Departments as Required
o Work collaboratively with facility employees to ensure the smooth operation of the facility
o Foster a culture of respect and a positive, progressive environment for all employees and customers
Qualifications:
· Enrolled in a degree or diploma program, preference given to those in an Agriculture related field
· Experience or background in the agriculture industry would be an asset
· Ability to work independently, as well as contribute to a team
· Strong analytical, organizational and time-management skills
· Strong communication skills
· Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office
