CGMS TECHNOLOGY LAB – Student Contract
•1.You are expected to be in your module and seated when the tardy bell rings. If you are absent, it is your responsibility to make up the work during class or after school.
You are expected to not talk during PA announcements.
•2.No food in the Lab ever. Water only if the bottle has a cap on it. Keep it on the floor. Never any gum. Bring nothing except a pencil (no pens) into the lab; take nothing except a pencil out. (Exception: if we are having computer trouble, there will be a note outside the door asking you to bring a book to read.)
No leaving the room once you have arrived except to get supplies with instructor's permission. Use the Supply Pass. Use restroom only in an EMERGENCY. Must sign out with instructor's permission and use the Hall Pass. Sign back in again. If you think
•3.Your behavior will be expected to be “reserved” at all times. Students are to obey normal school rules. A behavior grade will be given at the end of each rotation.
•4.Students should be on task at all times. You cannot be working on assignments from other classes. Stay at your module unless you have good reason to be elsewhere. Do not visit with others as you pass by them to get materials or leave the room. If you need assistance, turn on your light. Keep rereading and trying to figure out your problem while you are waiting on the instructor; don't just sit and wait. Be respectful to your partner and others.
•5. Talking with students other than your partner is prohibited.
•6.Do not change the computer settings. Do only the tasks you are assigned.
•7. Any item broken or damaged during usage or found that way when entering class must be reported to the instructor. Take good care of ALL equipment. ALL equipment and materials are to be used carefully and in the proper manner.
•8. Your chair is to be used properly. Do not roll around unnecessarily in it. You may change the height of your chair only at the beginning of class and only once. Do not spin around in the chair. Sit in the chair correctly.
•9. Always use protective boards, mats, wax paper, etc. when cutting, gluing, sawing, etc. DO NOTdamage the counter tops.
•10. Due to copyright laws, you are not permitted to copy any software from the computers. You cannot bring any diskettes into the classroom. You CAN do writing assignments at home and email them to yourself to print out at school.
•11. Always follow safety procedures given by your instructor or provided in specific modules.
•12. Students are to remain on task until a whistle is blown to indicate two minutes before the end of class. The counter top and floor area must be cleaned up, and the computer must be logged off. All materials used must be returned to their proper locations.If you used the saws or sander, you must vacuum up the sawdust. Students must stay at their modules IN THEIR CHAIRS until the bell rings. Chairs must be pushed in before leaving quietly.
