As promised.....
Don't make any huge promises as to the dimensional accuracy; It's still sort of a guess as to how much width each patrol needs for 7 people. The outer corners are truly parallel to the flags, and the back line is square to the sides. Gilwell field is actually a rectangle... shhhh!!!
Maybe something like "Gilwell field has been officially laid out and verified by our own staff surveyor. The corners are a perfect Gilwell square!
I am going to pay attention to the people spacing and see how it looks when we are actually there. Then i can adjust it a little after the first assembly if needed and document for the next course.
Oh yeah, kind of a neat story.... The photographer is an Eagle Scout that I work with who hasn't been out to Brady Saunders since he aged out in 2003. We took a little time riding around the Cub Camp that was still being built at the time, and talked about many of the improvements on the Boy Scout side. With lots of good stories from Woodbadge, you can bet that I'm encouraging him to get back involved in Scouting! Photo Credit: Andrew Story, Troop 715 Eagle Scout, 2003.
Thanks Dave.

Mark pointed me to it. It was exactly what i was looking for.
I am going to try to put some dimensions on it and come up with a simple (maybe), more repeatable way of creating the feild.
I am thinking about staging a photo of me on Gilwell feild with a surveying instrument "verifying that Gilwell feild has been set up as a true square and is dimensionally correct as verified by our own staff surveyor...." would that be a funny Gilwell photo / caption?
