HELP! I WASN’T EXPECTING THIS!

This session will help those working in ministry with children to develop an understanding of the reasons children might have a meltdown how to respond appropriately to the child in the moment. Participants will leave with new information about the physiology neuroscience behind a meltdown some tools for helping to calm a child with a “hot sympathetic response system.” As a bonus, the tools that work with children are also the tools that can help the adults manage their own stress. The workshop will be interactive & experiential, with plenty of time for questions & answers.

Sister Sandra served for 13 years as the Director of the Office of Divine Worship in the Archdiocese of Newark, NJ & some 20 years as a member of the Board of Directors of the Federation of Diocesan Liturgical Commissions.
