Completed forms and money to Waukesha County Fair office before Due Date

DUE DATE: June 1, 2012 – NO EXCEPTIONS! (Not accepted after June 1.)

Read instructions from County Fair office.

Remember: Do NOT sign-up to purchase Exhibitor passes. This year, they will be given to any youth signed up for 4-H by March 1.

Any Open Class (for adults) Entries are also due to the county fair office by June 1.

Any Entry fees for Open Class should be paid with your family’s “additional items.”

OVERNIGHT: Any Livestock Exhibitor – beef, dairy, goat, sheep, swine, horses) interested in staying overnight at the Waukesha County Fair should have attended a meeting earlier this spring. (Usually, the meeting is in April. This year I have not received word about it.)

Information for County Fair Judging

2012 Waukesha County Fair Face-to-Face Judging – Monday, July 16 and Tuesday, July 17 1-7pm.

Go to the County Fair web-site to see the schedule.

Some events – such as Dog Obedience and Rabbit Hopping – are held before the other fair judging.

Important points to notice:

No graded school projects or part of a school curriculum can be used as an entry at the WaukeshaCounty Fair.

Posters 14”x22” and on poster board (or else lowered one placing).

No kits unless otherwise stated. (Some projects allow an entry made from a kit; read the rules.)

Read specific rules for your Department, Class, and Entry Number.

Photography has specific rules about poster colors and mounting of photos.

Foods & Nutrition cannot have frosting on cupcakes, etc. (Please read their rules.)

Remember to Include Projects that were Judged Pre-Fair

Don’t forget to enroll projects that have already been judged before the Waukesha County Fair.

Examples of some of these are:

Shooting Sports – Fair Shoots (Archery, Rifle, Air Rifle, Shotgun)
Rocket Launch
Legos (Team Project)

Curtain Call (club drama) and ShowCase events do not count as Waukesha County Fair judged events. If you are enrolled in drama, music, speech, dance or such, you need to have something that you are showing/performing at County Fair.

This list is meant as a tool. It may contain mistakes – either typos or incomplete information. Please use this to help you look up your project, but don’t think it is errorless. Use discernment to see if it is the correct conversion for your projects. If you find a more appropriate Department and Division than I have listed, please let me know. This is not an official conversion chart approved of and inspected by people in the county. It’s just a little “secret decoder ring” that I put together for our club. I have tried to include all the projects that our club members are enrolled in (and some left from previous years).

I know very little about the animal projects, so please determine for yourself if these are correct conversions.
