CHILD CARE PARTNER TRAININGS/DOCUMENTS

State License: Provide a copy of the current child care license and post a copy on or near the parent board.

License Reviews: Provide a copy of the Notice of Survey Findings each year.

CACFP Review: Provide a copy of the Home Monitor/Visit Form done by the provider’s food program once a year.

Menus : Post a weekly menu on the parent board.

Business Insurance Documents: Provide a copy of the current home owners insurance or renters insurance with listed business liability. Copies of auto insurance documents are needed if provider does transporting.

Forms Training: ECKAN will provide training for filling out Time Sheets/Weekly Attendance Sheets, Daily News forms, and Inkind Sheets. Timesheets are emailed weekly to the Community Partnership Specialist (CPS), daily news are given to parents every afternoon, and inkind sheets are given to CPS monthly.

Lesson Plans/Child Goals: ECKAN will provide training and ongoing support for creating weekly lesson plans and weekly individual child goals. Lesson plans and goals will be emailed each week to the CPS.

Child Profiles/Portfolios/Observation Notes: ECKAN will provide training and guidance on filling out an ongoing profile, creating an ongoing portfolio, and documenting observation notes for each child enrolled. An observation note should be documented for each child weekly, and profiles/portfolios are updated monthly. CPS will review them quarterly or as needed.

Health & Safety Checklist: ECKAN will provide a copy of the checklists. Partners will review the checklists, post them on the parent board, and follow the recommended procedures.

Professional Development Plan: Complete a plan every 6 months to track needed and desired trainings and Early Childhood classes.

Course Assistance Documents: ECKAN will provide guidance with assistance requests. Partners will send signed requests to Home Based/Childcare Partnership Coordinator for approval and then they will be approved by the Head Start Director. A copy will be sent to the partner and the CPS to keep on file. Trainings and conferences will be paid by the partner, and ECKAN will reimburse them after its completion. All training certificates will be copied for ECKAN.

Performance Standard Training: ECKAN will provide a copy of Head Start Performance Standards for partners, and provide ongoing training and support in understanding and implementing the Standards into the child care setting.

PSI’s: Partners will complete a PSI checklist as they move up the pay levels on the STTAR program. The PSI areas are Health & Safety, Facilities, Materials, & Equipment, Nutrition, Mental Health, Education, and Social Services. The CPS will review the completed PSI’s with the partner, and keep a copy for the office file.

EHS Baseline Monitoring Tool: This monitoring tool will be done by the CPS every quarter, and lists in detail the criteria of the Head Start Performance Standards. Support plans will be written as needed, and the CPS will help the provider make changes as outlined in the plan to help meet the criteria.

Environmental Rating Scales: These monitoring tools will be done twice per year. They are used as a tool to assist a provider in making improvements in their program to increase the quality of their care. Support plans will be written as needed, and the CPS will help the provider make changes as outlined in the plan.

First Aid Training: Required every two years. *

Illness Training: Required yearly. *

CPR Training: Required every two years. *

Child Abuse Training: Required yearly. *

*ECKAN offers these trainings several times a year.*

Contracts: ECKAN provides a new contract each year to be reviewed and signed by the partner. The contract explains the provider’s and ECKAN’s statement of services. It also includes the funding rate, and the number of days allowed for paid leave.

STTAR: “Superior Training and Technical Assistance Results” describes the requirement to achieve different levels of pay as a partner with Early Head Start.

Inventory: ECKAN will keep track of inventory items provided to the partner, and CPS will keep a copy in the office file.
