CONTEST IDEAS-Page 2

DRESSED FOR SUCCESS: Each member gets a drawing of a woman in a bathing suit drawn on a poster board, but has to dress her for success. Each time the member has a loss, she gets to put an article of clothing on her doll. For gaining she remove clothing. For turtling, she stays the same. Whoever gets their figure clothed first, wins.

REACHING FOR THE STARS: Paste a few stars, as many as you want on a poster board. Write on the back of each star, a certain prize. When members reach the stars by losing weight, writing cards, calling, keeping a food chart, they get to pick which star they want, receiving whatever prize is written on the back.

STOP CLOWNING AROUND: Each contestant gets a clown and a certain number of balloons depending on how long you want the contest to continue. For each loss, pop a balloon. Whoever has no balloons left wins.

GOLF: Charge a dollar to enter this contest. Draw a “green” and a flag on a poster board. Put it on a bulletin board...or a heavy piece of cardboard so you can use pins or tacks to move your game piece. Put golf balls all on the starting line at the bottom of the green. Advance ball toward hole at the base of the flag. Move it one space for each pound lost. First person to sink their ball wins.

MYSTERY TEAM CONTEST: Have the leader and the weight recorder get together and choose up sides by drawing names out of a basket. Put these names on 2 teams (or however many teams you want.) DO NOT TELL ANYONE WHICH TEAM THEY ARE ON. At the end of the allotted time, reveal which team won. The team that wins is the team that lost the most weight. Figure out what prizes will be given before the contest starts. The point of this contest, beings you don’t know who your team mates are, is to encourage everyone to lose weight.

SEEDS OF SUCCESS: Draw a bunch of watermelon’s on a poster; one for every member. If they lose, they get to scoop out “bites” depending on how many pounds they lost, If they gain, they have to indicate how many pounds by putting seeds on the watermelon. The person who scoops out the most watermelon win but has to subtract the amount of seeds they have. Prize could be a gift certificate at the local produce department.

NO-NO CONTEST: Construct a poster with pictures of cakes, cookies, pie, candy, ice cream, chips, pizza, etc. Place members names on the poster and at each meeting names are removed as member confesses to eating one of the no-no foods on the poster. The member whose name remains on the poster the longest receives a gift.
