Course Description:Algebra II provides many ways to look at problems in algebra: algebraically, graphically, using tables and charts, through real-life modeling, using reasoning, and using technology. Students use algebra to solve problems in the real world.

Grading Policy:Students will be graded on the following:

Quarter Grades:

60% - Performance Evaluations (Chapter Tests), Quizzes

30% - Class Work, Participation, & Cornell Note Checks

10% - Daily Homework Assignments

Semester Grades:

80% of Quarter Grades

20% of Semester Final and EOC Exam

Cornell Notes - are required to be kept daily in a Binder.

** Late Assignments will be accepted with point deductions.

** Assignments, Worksheets, etc, are to be done in pencil.

** Proper Work must be shown at all times.

Keys to Success:Grading Scale

*Make an Effort A = 90% or more

*Be on Time to Class Everyday B = 80% - 89%

*Be Prepared for Class Everyday (Bring Materials Everyday) C = 70% - 79%

*Take Good Notes and Keep in a Binder D = 60% - 69%

*Complete All Assignments F = 59% or less

*Ask Questions and Participate in Class

*Come to Tutoring when needed (Do not wait until it’s too late)

***All Students need to have their own Calculator. I recommend a TI-30X IIS. Students will need

access to a calculator when at home.

Attendance and behavior expectations
Student inappropriate behavior as outlined in the student handbook will result in the teacher actions on the right. Student/Teacher conference time will start promptly at 3:00 pm after school same day. Late students will not be admitted.
NO CELL PHONES AT ANY TIME! You are here to complete your course work in a timely manner. Not to text your friends or listen to music.
If a student does use their cell phone, I will ask for it so it can be locked up. Refusal to turn in Cell Phone will result in Referral and being asked to leave the Class Room. Student will also be assigned After School Detention for using their cell phone during class. / Offense / Consequence

Students can voluntarily turn in their Cell phones to be locked up at the beginning of class.
Every Five times a student turns their cell phone in, they can be exempted from a
missing assignment.
Students, you will attend class as outlined in the student handbook.
*Students who have 5 or more tardiness will be referred to their principal.
**Please do not Call your Child During Class.
