If you participated in the Od Yosef Chai Matanos L'Evyonim Campaign through our Shul this past Purim AND you wrote out your check directly to Od Yosef Chai please check your records to see if your check cleared. We recently were alerted that Od Yosef Chai did not receive the envelope containing those checks that was mailed to them. We will have a team of Sofrim, all certified by VAAD MISHMERES STAM, examining and repairing (if necessary) your Tefillin and Mezuzos the entire day. The Shul will also provide new pre-checked Tefillin and Mezuzos, all with the Hashgacha of VAAD MISHMERES STAM, and related items available for sale. The Sofrim are compensated for their professional services (on a time basis) only and they will not have any financial interest in the sale of any of these replacement items. Bring your children and watch the Sofrim in action. The Sofrim will take the time to discuss and show any problems which they may find. There will be a checking charge of $75.00 for a pair of Tefillin and $9.00 per Mezuzah. Segira (smoothing out of the seam and sealing of the Tefilin Box for beautification) is optional and will also be available for an additional $45 charge. We will also have the computer program available to check your Tefillin. This optional check is done after the Sofer completes his check and it is recommended to be done once in the lifetime of your Tefilin. The charge for the computer check is $36 per set of Tefillin. We also are offering FULL SERVICE where we will come to your home and carefully remove your Mezuzos, check them and carefully replace them for an extra charge of $6.00 per Mezuzah. Since we expect a large turnout you are encouraged to make a reservation for your Tefillin and Mezuzos. This will guarantee that they will be checked first.
