CONFIRMATION PREPARATION SYLLABUS - 2018-2020

2nd Wednesdays at 6pm

SACRAMENTAL GOALS

The Dynamic Catholic “Decision Point” program will be used forpreparation of High School students to receive the Sacrament of Confirmationbeginningin January of the ninth grade year.

NEEDS AND RESOURCES

Required Background

To successfully complete this preparation course, you must

  • Be able to participate once a month on the second Wednesday evening of the month (unless noted otherwise by an asterisk *). If unable to attend the Wednesday class, the student is expected to complete work on their own.
  • Be able to participate in 3service projects offered at St. Michael Parish or another approved Parish
  • Be able to complete an additional 10 hours of community service
  • Attendweekly Sunday evening CYO or Wednesday evening High School Didachewhen they are in session throughout the school year (August - May.)

Required Materials

To successfully complete this course, you will need the Decision Point Workbook, provided by St. Michael Parish, an open heart and mind, and a willingness to share and explore your faith in a new way.

POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

General:

Students wishing to receive the sacrament of Confirmation are expected to attend and participate in Confirmation preparationclasses. During class, students are to be respectful of their catechist as well as other student participants.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Attendance will be taken for each session. Students who miss class will be expected to complete the materials covered in the session on their own. This material is to be turned in for attendance credit.Any student missing 4 or more class sessions will need to meet with the PCL or Pastor.
