Conference Funding Assistance Program Application

Eligibility Requirements:

All full-time and part-time graduate students registered at OISE are eligible to apply for the Conference Funding Assistance Program.Each student is limited to a maximum of $350 reimbursement per term (Fall, Spring, and Summer). Conferences that take place at OISE or University of Toronto are not eligible for conference assistance through the GSA Conference Funding Assistance Program.

Application Deadline:

Unlike other conference funding programs at the University of Toronto, the GSA does not require you obtain pre-approval prior to attending your conference. You must apply after having attended the conference. The GSA must receive your completed application form and all required documentationno later than 30 daysafter the last day of the conference. The GSA regrets to inform students that we cannot accept documentation beyond this deadline.

Documentation Guidelines:

A completed GSA Conference Funding Assistance Program Application consists of three documents:

1: Completed and Signed Application Form

Please download theGSA Conference Funding Assistance Application.You may also pick-up a paper copy of the form from the GSA Office (8-105). Before completing the form, please note the following:

·  All fields are required.

·  If you are unable to provide required information or documentation, you may attach a supplementary one-page explanation and in kind documentation with your application.

2: Proof of Presentation

Please include a photocopy (or print out, in the case of electronic conference booklets) of the front page of theconference bookletand the page that includes thedate and timeof your presentation. Please highlight your presentation and name. Donot include the entire booklet.

3: Proof of Travel

Please provideoneof the following:

·  Boarding passesshowing travel to the city/region hosting the conference you attended; boarding passes must include your name and date of travel.Photocopies are acceptable.

·  Hotel check-out receiptthat includesyour name and shows balance paid.

·  Credit card or bank statementthat indicates your name and the charges made in the location of your conference during the conference time period. Please highlight your name and the relevant charges.

N.B.:Unfortunately, the GSA regrets that it cannot accept travel itineraries as proof of travel (e.g. a receipt from Expedia, Travelocity, etc. for a flight/hotel), nor point-of-sale receipts (e.g. a receipt from a restaurant or gas station).

N.B.: Please note that due to the nature of processing conferencing applications, conference applications take approximately 30 days to be processed. The Vice President Finance will email you when your cheque is ready for pick up. Thank you for your patience.

You will receive an email once your application has been approved. If you included a self-addressed, stamped envelope with your application, your cheque will be mailed to you. All other cheques will be available to be picked up at the GSA Office (8-105) during GSA Executive office hours.
