Directions: From the West – Leave I-70 at Exit 55, continue straight and follow the signs to the Fairgrounds. At Patrick Avenue at stop light, (MD 144) turn right for 1 block, turn left on Monroe Ave. and enter the Fairgrounds at Gate #3. Park and walk to the left (south) end of the “Fest Hall”, the largest building ahead of you on your left.

From the East – Leave I-70 at Exit 56, continue straight and follow signs to Fairgrounds. At Monroe Ave, turn right (Liberty Gas Station on left) and enter the Fairgrounds at Gate #3. Park and walk to the left (south) end of the “Fest Hall”, the largest building ahead of you on your left.

Start Time: 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 Noon, finish by 3:00 p.m.

Start/Finish: Frederick Fairgrounds, 797 E Patrick St Frederick, MD 21701. Start Table just inside Gate 1, next to the Fest Hall, south end.

Distance: Two trails are offered, a 10 Km and a 5 Km.

Trail Description: Both trails are on sidewalks and roadsides in the city of Frederick. They passe through many locations of historical significance. The trails are user friendly to wagons, wheelchairs and strollers, though some difficulty may be encountered where there are no curb cuts.

Eligibility: EVERYONE WELCOME!! Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Groups are welcome.

Registration/Fees: This event is FREE for those who wish to participate without receipt of IVV credit. Fee for IVV credit is $3.00.

Procedure: At the start point each participant signs a waiver and receives a start card to carry and be presented, and stamped at the checkpoint. The individual start cards are turned in at the finish table upon completing the walk.

Dogs: Sorry, pets are not permitted at the Fairgrounds

Conditions: This event is open to the public and will be held in reasonable weather conditions. Please NO LITTERING on the trail.

Refreshments: Water and candy will be available at the start and control points. Food and drink may be purchased at many places in the city and at the "Oktoberfest." Walkers will enjoy FREE ENTRY into the Oktoberfest.

IVV Books: This event counts towards IVV achievement awards. New books will be available for purchase at $5.00.

Restrooms: Available at the start/finish and at various locations on the trails.
